he called her an Ox
Ofcourse he will make and take claim to have had Meryl Streep cast in Kramer vs Kramer 😬
"Her boyfriend just died, it was the perfect time to cast her" wth Dustin
Streep and Hoffman "Disliked one another and the film ( while great ), was nothing but a bitch session between those 2
Waaaaaaay funny.......Dustin talks about Meryl like they were BFF's while they were shooting KRAMMER VS KRAMMER. Listen to Meryl's version of the story, she couldn't stand the lil fucker.....he cracked her across the face + smacked a wine glass that shattered almost right into Meryl's face. Both times while the camera was still rolling. To be fair, she also mentioned although Dustin's not 'fun' dude to work with, he's 'gifted'. Love & Respect__________mykey from toronto
nice
I honestly love her so much
Gracias al cine, a la producción, a estos grandes actores por ésta gran escena 🫂

Godfather quote about wiman who lost godfather actor
Anyone sick should never be on a show or in public. This is how it spreads.
He was 12 years older than her and at the top of his fame. His ego really was not going to let her outdo him. So he was a bit of an oaf when her character won the court case in the movie and she won the Oscar for realz.
Meryl, you are NOT any different to anyone else, if ya got a bug, its ok to cancel, and be at home in bed, and get better. (I know this is 14 years ago but wanted to comment lol).
meryl scumreep😡
FLUSH
I saw this movie at 6 or 7 years old, at the drive-in, with my mother. Of course, didn,t get nothing from the story of the movie, just remember how my mother was absorbed by the film and emotional, that was one of first movie who articulate how women felt imprisonment from motherhood, something my mother had struggle a lot-and let us know. The only real thing I remember from the movie, its when the kid drop in the playground and hurt. He was my age, I was traumatised...and was not able for the rest of my childhood to go up one of those kid play ensemble. too scare.
Just hearing about the slap, how disgusting.
Dustin is jealous that he will never approach Meryl’s level of success. 21 Oscar noms for Meryl vs. 7 for Dustin.
Kate Jackson dodged a slapped.
I’m so glad that Meryl shouted out Viola
I’m here solely to crap on him. Why the heck did he feel the need to slap her? He’s walking around praising her and saying that he knew she was brilliant yet he felt the need to abuse her verbally and physically. That phone call ain’t gonna do much. Meryl said that if he would’ve done that know she would’ve actually taken him to court.
It's hysterical seeing everyone blast Hoffman over these things. Some of you talk about her like she was the famous actress she became BECAUSE of that movie already. He gave her a slap. He broke a wine glass without telling her. Big F'n deal! He also provided her the opportunity to win an award for that movie. Those 2 scenes from those "incidents" gave her performance so much more authenticity that it helped her get that award. Most of those actresses back then (even today but especially then) had to suck someone, or multiple someones off to get a role like that. She got a slap and a little scare from a broken wine glass and you're complaining like you guys were there! I'll bet if you told EVERY actress that they would win an Oscar for the role you are about to put them in but they didn't have to spread their legs for it (which many of them do), they would just have to take a slap in the face and a jump scare, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM would sign instantly. I wonder how pissed she was when she marched off with that Oscar.
Can't tell you how much I love her.
What a shame that scum bag judges can't see that a proven stable life for the boy was in place with his father, yet he was willing to take a chance on the mother by virtue of her being a female. Where is the equity in that? Fair and equal treatment, the very thing courts are supposed to uphold they blatantly ignored for decades. Where is the prudence in these jurists? They are politicians concerned with only their careers. Was there ever a collective analysis of their decisions, prompted by their own self-reflection? Smug POS. Fiction yes but highly reflective of the judicial attitudes then and now.
Did she say we live off the poor?
Off the war
Such a great play . Brecht is wonderful ,, Thanks Patti ..this is great...oh my word ..
Who’s the interviewer
I love Meryl, she's my fav, but I feel so bad for Amy who barely got any questions and they weren't even about the film.
Streep's character in Kramer Vs Kramer is very unsympathetic. In fact her character is a real jerk. Immature, selfish, self centered. The studio wanted her for the part that Jobeth Williams played but Streep wanted the other part. Streep herself has said that in the script her character was even more unsympathetic but that she managed to cut out some of that. Watching the film you wonder what Ted Kramer ever saw in her in the first place.
One of my all time favorite movies 👌
The two best actresses in the world. Together with Jack Nicholson!!! That's the top three!
Meryl Streep and Dustin Hoffman are the two best "actresses" in the world?
Not true by Dustin On set, Hoffman groped Streep’s breasts and sexually harassed her. She dislikes him. He cannot “make a phone call” to her. It’s Hoffman hogwash here, Hoffman coverup
I remenber that sees, Yes. I was very impressed .
What a lie!
Sounds right. I can just imagine the birth of Meryl Streep as the Star she is.
Don’t say something Amy if you don’t truly mean it just to make your image look good!
Well here’s the kicker! I’m an ex boyfriend of Amy Adams and I was only born with one kidney. I’m in need of a kidney, as I only have 5% function left. I’ve asked Amy and her financial partner to buy me a kidney and she ignores me! So for my ex girlfriend Amy Adams I have these two quotes for you and everyone who is extremely wealthy: 1) “And again I say unto you, It easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God” 2) “If you seek for riches, seek to help one another” In other words, peoples hearts have waxed cold and compassion has hidden itself!
Hoffman was more of a method actor, similar to the way Daniel Day Lewis is. On Marathon Man supposedly he stayed awake for over 30 hours before shooting one of his scenes in the dentist chair to portray a man confused and terrified by what was happening to him and also something about asking them to hold him under water longer to make the scene more believable. These types cannot be the most easy actors to work with as they will stay in character the whole time , pushing themselves. I am guessing they expect their co stars to do the same
And Olivier told him, Try acting, my dear boy 😂
I think this film would have ended better if Ted and Joanna actually reunited as a couple and they finally fix their broken marriage with Ted now treating her better than he did before they broke up and finally letting her have a life of her own. Something tells me the director originally wanted that but it was probably decided to end the film like this instead
kramer vs kramer may be one of the most overrated films in history but streep is brilliant because she makes the audience hate her
<<enter Boomer comment here about “things nowadays” and “they don’t make things like they used to”>>
Love Ellen Burstyn and Meryl Streep 😍
😋🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕
Kate Jackson was phenomenal in the film Making Love. I can see her in Kramer.
100% agree
I love this movie but Meryl Streep's tone of voice is not very loud and this interferes with the good understanding.
Why do interviewers keep interrupting, oh yeah, because they are terrible.
Too bad he treated her like shit on the set.
Tbh, I don’t know how much I buy that Meryl was still “grieving” over the death of John Cazale. The woman was PREGNANT during filming!!! I know one can be in another relationship and still miss the past. Not saying she didn’t love or miss John, but I think “grieving” is a dramatic stretch given her situation.
I love when actors find their spouses in movies. Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy are such a beautiful couple
